Classic 1963 MGB MK1 roadster, car #738, making it the 237th built MGB from the first year of Australian production. (chassis numbers start at 501) My Dad owned car #661 from new, the first MGB sold in Canberra, built in July ' 63 so #738 would have been built shortly after. Red with black upholstery and carpet. Painted knock-on wire wheels. 1.8 litre 4 cylinder, twin SU carbs, 4 speed manual with overdrive gearbox. Electric cooling fan fitted for piece of mind. Runs and drives well. Good oil pressure, no smoke or rattles or over-heating, gearbox shifts well, overdrive engages/dis-engages as it should. All gauges/switches operational. Sound, straight body with good panel fit. Paint holds a good shine and presents well although there is some humidity blisters in a couple of places. Excellent hood with nice clear windows and excellent tonneau. Tidy interior with good door trims/seats/carpets/dash. Seat belts fitted. Glass, brightwork and lenses all in good shape, as are wire wheels, tyres and knock-ons. New exhaust system and brake master cylinder overhaul.
